A native New Yorker turned Californian with Spain, South Carolina and Idaho between; Dr. Richard Kagel’s professional highlights include working on the Space Shuttle Program, managing an International Chemical Instrumentation Company, and being owner/operator of an Environmental Testing Laboratory. Dr. Kagel grows Zinfandel, Petite Syrah and raises geese on his ranch in the Dry Creek Valley. Dr. Kagel has served on the Board of the DCVA for over 10 years, and currently serves as President. In addition to his interests in preserving and enhancing the valley’s natural environment, Dr. Kagel serves as a Sonoma County Law Enforcement Chaplain, is on the Board of the non-profit “West African Vocation Schools” and is co-founder of “Friends of Guinea-Bissau”, a non-profit working to bring clean drinking water to one of the poorest countries in the world. Richard believes that the Dry Creek Valley is “a precious jewel, one we get to call home”.
